Watch UFC 101 – Declaration Anderson Silva vs Forrest Griffin Live Fight

War will break out at Wachovia Center in Philadelphia when middleweight champion Anderson Silva will go up against TUF one winner and former UFC light-heavyweight champion, Forrest Griffin, at UFC 101 fight card on August 8th.

Even though this fight is not the main event, most MMA fans will be looking forward to it more than Penn Vs Florian, and Anderson Silva vs Forrest Griffin is going to be one great show.

Anderson Silva has an impressive UFC record of a nine fight win streak, although his last two fights raised doubts about his drive and hunger to compete and entertain since he has already done so much in the UFC. Silva still has a variety of options with UFC, which include continuing to fight at 185 and defend against the multiple number one contenders, a super- fight against GSP, or continue to fight at light-heavyweight hopefully leading to a Silva-Machida super-fight.

However, since his last two not-so-impressive fights, the UFC has apparently given Anderson a bone in the form of a fight against Forrest Griffin at UFC 101. While many people are already looking at who else Anderson has to beat until he fights Machida, you cannot underestimate Forrest. It has been a long time for Forrest Griffin, but it still must be remembered that he had won “The Ultimate Fighter Finale” against Stephan Bonnar in 2005. This fight is still considered to be one of the greatest matches ever seen inside the Octagon, with Forrest Griffin even becoming the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. Griffin has had significant victories over favorites like Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. His rampage hi a stumbling block suddenly with his loss to Rashad Evans. No doubt, a win over Anderson Silva on August 8 could bring Griffin back to the title race.

While statically the match favors Anderson, Griffin is very unpredictable in his methods and is also much stronger than Anderson. This fight holds the promise of pitting two of the world’s best fighters and will definitely generate a lot of hype.
